Basic Schedule

Nairobi

You will arrive in the capital city of Nairobi where Jeanne and Miriam will meet and welcome you. This thoughtfully curated pilgrimage will allow you to experience the places and people of Kenya in life-altering ways that traditional tourism misses.

echoes of eden, naivasha

You will have the opportunity to catch breathtaking views down into the Great Rift Valley as we travel towards Naivasha. We will explore Lake Naivasha, the only fresh water lake in the Rift Valley. Boat rides on the lake give us the chance to experience the exotic bird life as well as hippopotami in the water! A walking safari on Crescent Island is a favorite, where Out of Africa was filmed. (You might wish to watch this 1985 film with Merrill Streep and Robert Redford before you come!) There will also be opportunity to participate first-hand with children and youth through the nonprofit environmental work of Eden Thriving in local communities.

SAFARI

We will go on safari within one of Kenya’s great wildlife ecosystems. There we will be met by our local drivers and guides. Their knowledge of the terrain and the animal habitat will make our experience wonderfully rich and exciting such as we experience close encounters with elephants, giraffes, a variety of antelopes, cape buffalos, zebras, lions, cheetahs, ostriches, hyenas, warthogs, wildebeests, impalas and much more. Our early morning safaris will be followed by a hearty breakfast. Rest is recommended during the heat of the day. Our evening safari drives conclude with ‘sundowners’ and ‘bitings’ surrounded by wildlife as the sun sets, before we settle into a lovely evening meal and hot showers. Our safari will also offer us a cultural experience with local tribal warriors, who are our hosts.

Immerse in the indian ocean

The Indian Ocean’s beautiful beaches are world renowned, as is their Swahili culture and cuisine. We will explore the cultures and architecture shaped by centuries of trade along this magnificent coast. We will explore our inner depths through ritual and dream work as we allow these ancient watery landscapes to speak to us.

Hosts

During your stay in Kenya, Miriam Smith, a long-time resident of Africa, will be your knowledgeable host, providing insights into Kenya, and connecting you with local cultural guides. She holds a profound respect for the sacred land. Jeanne Schul will lead body therapy movement sessions to maintain physical health as well as guiding sessions to explore our dreams and synchronicities. Inspired by Jung, we’ll delve into how our time in Africa shapes our personal myth and influences our psyches, bodies, and souls. Miriam and Jeanne will also offer spiritual practices to enhance your soulful pilgrimage experience.

What previous pilgrims say…

There seemed to be a synchronicity to our movements beyond the schedule. I can still feel in my body a resonance that Kenya provided and I want to extend it as long as I can.

Jill

I always felt safe, heard, attended to, “fed and watered”, and as comfortable as the conditions allowed during our travels. Miriam’s insider connections and ability to pivot on the spot are impressive. Just wanted to say that while the spiritual experiences were deeply life altering, the logistical ones did not go unnoticed.

Patty

The pilgrimage experience is still deepening in me through dreams and my mandalas.  It is re-wilding my soul. This trip was a very generative experience. Curious to see what is birthed out of my time in Kenya.

Barb

The ripples of this pilgrimage are still being felt. It has stirred some things in me which are still unfolding. The trip was a beginning. I need to come back. Kenya has more to teach me

Deb

I feel forever altered by this experience.

Cory

Embracing the feminine and the goddess has been so much part of my own journey, and the Kenyan  landscape has offered many unveilings of her power and beauty.
